WBS

Vancouver, BC

One company. Several products. One system underneath.

Whistler Business Solutions is Keith MacInnis’s company. This website helps groups find Whistler stays. The same person built and runs the software around it: family apps, editorial shops, a voice helpline, and the attribution that ties a sale on any of them back to the person who sent it.

Trips planned by Whistler locals. Software made in the mountains.

How it fits together

Customers meet separate brands. Most of those brands share one commerce API: product catalogs, Stripe checkout, referral links, click logs, and a ledger that credits the person who sent the visitor. Another storefront is another site on that same API. For Play is the exception: its own app, its own server, and its own website.

The shared API is Express and Prisma on Postgres. The sites are React. Subscriptions run through RevenueCat. Voice runs through Vapi. Payments run through Stripe. Affiliate networks are Awin and Commission Junction.

How a sale is attributed

Every buy or book button that should earn a credit is a short link on the brand’s own domain. The code on that link is what comes back when the sale closes.

  1. A button on a brand site is a short link, such as theguidedlist.com/r/code.

  2. The server records the click and sends the visitor on to the merchant with that code attached.

  3. When the merchant reports the sale, the code comes back through Awin, Commission Junction, or Stripe.

  4. The sale lands on the referrer’s ledger inside a 30-day window.

The work, in one place

The iOS apps, the sites, checkout, the affiliate sync, the voice line, and the admin that runs them were designed and shipped by one person. If you are hiring and want to talk about that work, write directly.
